Tech-centric media production has always been a defining part of the Bay Area’s film legacy, from Pixar’s award-winning animation to Adobe’s creative tools. The Silicon Valley Film Initiative’s Production Outfit carries that spirit forward by empowering student filmmakers to harness new and evolving technologies to tell their stories.

Through funding, access to editing software and equipment, and hands-on mentorship, we support the next generation of storytellers. Our bi-annual cohorts of Silicon Valley Scholars (two to five per session) embark on an immersive journey to create a short film from script to screen under the guidance of top local talent.

These projects provide filmmakers with standout pieces for their reels while strengthening the local production ecosystem, bringing together creative professionals from across disciplines to collaborate on every film, further empowering SVFI’s mission.
